My Marketing Campaign For Reebok

My Marketing Campaign For Reebok

Written by: Muhammad Razzaq

“This is exactly what I would do as a marketing manager for Reebok.”

The brand that I chose to do the campaign for is Reebok, because they have not utilized one of the best, oldest and most effective campaigns yet, which is a contest. The campaign will carry a hashtag and tag line #iRockMyReeboks. The concept of the contest is that our consumers and fans will send us creative pictures of them wearing their favourite pair of reebok running shoes or sneakers. This contest will target a younger audience who either is really into fashion and sneakers or lives a healthy lifestyle. The age group that would be targeted is 16-28 year olds.
The person with the most creative picture will win a $500 credit to our web-store.
After looking at Reebok’s social media I have realized that consumer generated content has been the most successful in terms of engagement. There is no better way to increase this type of content. My goal is to increase consumer generated content, 200 entries from contestants. Another goal is to increase engagement on posts, any post regarding the contest should get 100+ retweets and 150+ likes on twitter.
I would only run this contest on Twitter and Instagram. Strategy for both the platforms would be the same. There is a strong call to action and a catchy hashtag that will encourage consumer participation on our social media outlets. We would also have to take many different pictures for this contest to be able to promote and eventually we will also start using the entries to promote the contest.
This campaign does not need to be posted during a certain event or time, it can be run during any time of the year. I would run this contest around the time that a popular shoe is releasing from Reebok for extra promotion. I would run this contest for an entire month.

#IRockMyReeboks campaign will be successful because it encourages the consumers to create their own content and will help with word of mouth marketing as well because our products will be marketed on their personal pages. It will also make them feel appreciated and make them feel like a part of a community.
